Blogging

I had the students do this cool blogging activity today.It was about the benefits of education the .It was funny cause a lot of them went to said that they thought this was stupid cause they didn't like school....Go Figure.LOL Also many said that they wanted to be basketball,football players, rappers, and singers.I asked what about being a teacher alot said," they couldn't deal with these bad kids...Boy that was so funny:)"

The biggest issue I'm have at school concerning blogging is convincing the principal for instruction that blogging has real educational value. I think the problem is that she think the kids will just be socializing and not really doing any related to instruction. So what I'm doing is gathering information and working on showing her the educational benefits that can be obtained through blogging..Stay tuned:)

Its amazing how blogging can really be influencing people in the area, of Politics, Sports, and Entertainment.If you look at three of the weeks hottest news stories President Obama state of the union address, the Redskins Signing Albert Haynesworth for $ 100 million contract and the Oscars with slum dog millioniare winning everything.Its easy to find tons of sites and people blogging about it.

Talking about blogging to Middle Children.

This week I was talking to my students about blogging and they had very good knowledge of it,I wasn't surprised and probably neither would any teacher. Most of the kids said the blog everyday using the world famous site "MYSPACE" I asked them when they are blogging what do the discuss? Many said they talked about their friends, what they did in school today,boys,girls,music,TV,Video Games,Sports, and even about teachers...Like that would be surprising. I Think kids just use blogging mainly to socialize and have fun, with their friends and family well at least 99% of my students do.

Wikis

I think wikis are a fun way to share information with a variety of different people who all have different perspectives and view points on a variety different issues.They also can be used educationally to share, create, and communicate different information.

I'm learning more about wikis everyday how they can be used to help not only students,but people in general learn.I will keep you guys posted on the outcome of my learning.

The Bloggers Sogger!

The idea of posting you thoughts on the world wide web at first seems scary,because everyone has your exact ideas, thought, and expressions right their to make comments and judge whether good or bad.But being able to communicate with individuals from around the world and to have them make suggestions or to expand on a topic and inject different perspectives make it very exciting and educational worthy....at least for the time being:)
